Hanging Stars – A New Kind Of Sky (Crimson Crow)

While the sleeve of this album might hint that the band are a US country group, they are in fact a UK folk/rock combo, who do utilise hints of Americana in their sound. This mix of UK folk and US country gives the band a distinctive sound, with Joe Harvey-Whyte’s pedal-steel guitar enhancing every track, and Sean Read’s horns augmenting ‘I Was A Stone’ and ‘Three Rolling Hills’. Well worth a listen.
